How to Set Up IPTV on iPhone & iPad
Straight from the App Store — plus AirPlay to your telly, which is the one thing iOS does better than everyone else.
Short answer: Install an IPTV player from the App Store (Smarters Player Lite is the usual pick), sign in with the details your provider sends you, and you're watching in about four minutes. You can then AirPlay it to an Apple TV or a compatible Smart TV.

AirPlay it to your TV
This is the genuinely useful thing iOS gives you that Android's fiddlier at.
If you've got an Apple TV or an AirPlay 2 compatible Smart TV (most recent Samsung, LG, Sony and Philips sets are), you can throw the stream from your iPhone or iPad straight onto the big screen. Start playing a channel, open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring, pick your TV.
It's brilliant for a one-off — mate's house, hotel room, a match you weren't expecting to want. Being straight with you though: for everyday viewing it's not the best setup. Mirroring leans on your phone's battery and your Wi-Fi, drops if you take a call, and adds a little latency — which you'll notice when the neighbours cheer a goal before you see it. If IPTV on the telly is your main plan, a Firestick costs less than a month of Sky Sports and just works.
Some IPTV players do appear on the tvOS App Store, and if yours is there it'll run natively — no phone needed, no mirroring. But availability shifts more than on any other platform, so don't count on a specific app being there. AirPlay is the dependable fallback.
What iOS can and can't do
Apps look and feel better on iOS, and AirPlay to Apple TV is seamless. Great on an iPad — it's a genuinely lovely portable telly.
Unlike Android or Firestick, you can only install what's on the App Store. If Apple pulls an app, you switch to another — you can't work around it.
iOS IPTV players get removed and relisted more than on any other platform. Annoying, but your subscription isn't tied to any one app.

"Invalid credentials" when I know the details are right
It's almost always autocorrect.
iOS capitalises the first letter of your username automatically and sometimes mangles the server URL. Copy-paste the details from our WhatsApp message rather than typing them, or turn off auto-capitalisation in Settings → General → Keyboard first.
The app I was using has vanished from the App Store
It happens on iOS — and your subscription is fine.
Apple removes and relists IPTV players periodically. Your details aren't tied to any one app: just install another player (GSE Smart IPTV, or whatever's currently listed) and sign in with the same credentials. Message us and we'll tell you what's on the store today.
Buffering on mobile data but fine on Wi-Fi
Check your signal and your data plan.
Streaming live TV eats data — a couple of hours of HD sport will make a dent in a small allowance. For 4K on mobile you'd want a strong 5G signal. On patchy 4G, drop the stream quality in the app settings.
AirPlay keeps dropping
Both devices need to be on the same network — and a good one.
Make sure your iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi (and ideally the same band). Incoming calls and notifications can interrupt mirroring too. If it's a regular problem, a dedicated streaming device is the better answer.
Video stutters when I lock my phone
iOS aggressively suspends background apps.
That's normal behaviour, not a fault with the service. Keep the app in the foreground while watching, or use a device that's built to stay on — a Firestick or Android box.
