How to Set Up IPTV on a Smart TV
The UK guide for Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) โ including the MAC address bit that confuses everyone.
Short answer: Search your TV's built-in app store for IPTV Smarters Pro , Smart IPTV or IBO Player, install it, then either sign in with your provider details or upload your playlist using the TV's MAC address. It takes about ten minutes. If the app isn't available on your model, a cheap Firestick is the reliable workaround.
Smart TVs are the fiddliest option
Smart TV IPTV apps are genuinely more awkward than every other device. App availability depends on your TV's brand, model and year; apps sometimes get pulled from TV stores; and built-in Wi-Fi and processors are usually weaker than a dedicated streaming stick. It absolutely does work โ thousands of people run it this way โ but if you own a Firestick , or you're willing to spend a few quid on one, that route is faster to set up and smoother to watch. No upsell in that: a Firestick costs less than a month of Sky sports and it's yours.
Which app for which TV
Three work well on UK Smart TVs โ but they behave differently.
Has a proper login screen โ enter your Xtream Codes details and you're done. Available on most newer Samsung and LG sets. Start here if it's in your store.
The old faithful. No login screen โ instead you upload your playlist to its website using your TV's MAC address. Free trial, then a small one-off fee to the app developer (nothing to do with us).
Also MAC-address based, similar to Smart IPTV. A solid fallback when the other two aren't available on your model.
Setting up with IPTV Smarters Pro
If this app is in your TV's store, it's by far the simpler route.
Find the app
On Samsung, open the Apps panel from the home screen and use the search icon. On LG, open the LG Content Store. Search for IPTV Smarters.
Install and open it
Install, launch, and accept the terms of use.
Choose Login with Xtream Codes API and enter the username, password and server URL we send you. Or pick the playlist option and paste your M3U link.
Wait for the load
The first load takes the longest as it pulls in channels, VOD and the TV guide. After that it's instant.
Setting up with Smart IPTV (the MAC address method)
This is the bit that trips people up โ there's no login screen, by design.
Install Smart IPTV
Search your TV's app store for Smart IPTV or SIPTV and install it.
Note your MAC address
Open the app. It'll display a MAC address on screen โ twelve characters, like 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E. Write it down exactly.
Upload your playlist on the website
On your phone or laptop, go to the Smart IPTV website's upload page. Enter your MAC address and the M3U URL we send you, then submit. This is what links your subscription to your telly.
Reload the app
Back on the TV, close and reopen Smart IPTV. Your channels will appear. If they don't, give it a minute and reload again.
Need your login details?
You'll need a subscription to complete either method. Get your Xtream Codes or M3U details on WhatsApp in minutes โ try it free for 24 hours first.

Smart TV problems, solved
The app isn't in my TV's app store
Common, and not something you've done wrong.
Availability varies by brand, model, year and region โ and apps do occasionally get pulled from TV stores entirely. Try the other apps first (Smarters Pro, Smart IPTV, IBO Player). If none are there, a Firestick or Android box plugged into HDMI is the dependable fix, and it'll run better anyway.
It's buffering on my Smart TV but fine on my phone
That points at the TV's Wi-Fi, not your broadband.
Built-in Smart TV Wi-Fi is often weak. Plug in an Ethernet cable if you can โ it's the single biggest fix. Otherwise get onto 5 GHz Wi-Fi and move the router closer. Smart TV processors are also slower than a streaming stick, which is why the same stream can be flawless on a Firestick and stuttery on the telly.
Smart IPTV says "playlist not found" or the screen is empty
Nearly always the wrong MAC address.
Check you uploaded the MAC the app displays, not one from a different menu โ and check wireless vs wired, since they differ. Re-upload with the correct one and reload the app.
My channels disappeared after a TV update
Firmware updates sometimes reset apps.
Reopen the app and sign in again, or re-upload the playlist. If the app itself vanished in the update, reinstall it from the store.
Smart IPTV is asking me to pay
That's the app developer, not us.
Smart IPTV gives a free trial period and then charges a small one-off fee for the app itself. It's entirely separate from your IPTVUKStream subscription โ we don't see a penny of it. If you'd rather not pay it, use IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player instead.

Common questions
Can I watch IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV?
Yes. Most recent Samsung sets running Tizen support IPTV Smarters Pro, Smart IPTV and IBO Player from the built-in store. Availability varies by model and year.
Which app is best for LG Smart TVs?
On LG webOS, IPTV Smarters Pro and Smart IPTV both work well. Smarters Pro is easier because it has a real login screen; Smart IPTV needs the MAC address method above.
What is a MAC address?
A unique code identifying your TV on the network. Apps like Smart IPTV use it to link your playlist to your telly, since they have no in-app login. You'll find it in the app itself or in your TV's network settings.
Does it work on Sony, Philips or Hisense TVs?
If it runs Android TV (many Sony, Philips and Hisense sets do) then yes โ and it's easier, since you get the Play Store. See our Android guide.
Do I need a Smart TV at all?
No. Any TV with an HDMI port works with a Firestick or Android box โ and honestly, that setup is usually smoother than a Smart TV app.
